Dr Javaid Iqbal, a graduate of Allama Iqbal Medical College, completed his post-graduation by serving in Services Hospital Lahore. He worked in services hospital as Registrar and Senior Registrar. He was on call 7 days a week and 365 days a year and there he had dealt with all complicated cases in emergency outdoor and indoor including Diabetics, Hypertensives, and Hypo/Hyperthyroid etc.
Before joining his post-graduation, he has worked in Diabetic Clinic Jinnah Hospital Lahore and after this, he joined DIP as a part of pioneer team of DIP where he had undergone training in all aspects of diabetes, communication and counselling techniques. He has been involved in publication work of DIP as a medical editor. Apart from clinical work, he is working as an Assistant professor in Internal Medicine. He is famous in his students for being a teacher with a student-centred approach. He is a dedicated professional in the field of Diabetes and Endocrinology.
With his diverse experience of managing complicated diabetic patients and commitment with a field of Diabetes, he has chosen his motherhood Institution DIP to practice as consultant diabetologist. At DIP he is mainly focusing on managing type 2 diabetic patients, conducting awareness sessions for diabetic patients and their families, training diabetes educators and counsellors, and contributing towards patient awareness programs. Through his sessions, informative articles being published on DIP website on weekly basis.
He has a special interest in the treatment of Type 2 diabetic patients and their counselling regarding the use of insulin and insulin analogues to prevent the development of life-threatening complications. He has attended various courses like Certificate in Diabetology, Certificate in Medical teaching and workshop on Research Methodology and Communication Skills.
