Rabia Muzaffar is a practicing Clinical Psychologist, has done her Master in Clinical Psychology from Institute of Professional Psychology-Bahria University Karachi.
She has done numerous internships at different level with renowned educational institutions like PNS Shifa, Karachi Psychiatric hospital, Aman foundation as Clinical Therapist and provided psychological insistence unconditionally. After graduation, she started working in Psychiatric department named KARACHI Psychiatric Hospital as Clinical therapist and Child Assessor where she provided treatment to patients suffering from schizophrenia disorder, bipolar disorder, personality and obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety order and depressive patients. She also worked with aggressive teenagers where she successfully applied Play therapy along with anger management to heal his issues. She implemented Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, relaxation and hypnosis techniques to reduce their pain and made them mentally constructive human being. She also conducted monthly awami workshop for mental care awareness and performed supervisory duties for psychology students from different universities like Agha Khan Nursing, IPP -Bahria students. She also had experience to work with NGO named Roshni Helpline under Gender Equity program sponsored by US-AID. In which she provided services to minorities a free counselling session and psycho-education related to mental issues.
Rabia has command over quantitative research as she has conducted research on university student titled “Relationship between test anxiety and academic achievements among university students. Her Master’s thesis is based on elderly population as “Loneliness and Life satisfaction among institutionalized and non-institutionalized elderly people” which will provide baseline for further invention with old age people to make their life enjoyable in spite of living in institutionalized setup.
Currently, she is working as Clinical Psychologist at Willing-ways Karachi where she deals with various clients contains mental illness and substance abuse disorder to provide then psycho education about diseased and conducting one-o-one session plus group work on how to manage craving, anger and stress management, denial management, relapse prevention and recovery. She has good command on counsellingand expertise on clinical tools, assessments where she use eclectic approach in therapy to help clients. She is committed, hardworking and well-motivated professional. She is interested in training and facilitations.
