Hira Shahid is working as a Clinical Psychologist in Willing Ways, Lahore since April 2017. She has done B.A Honors in English Literature with a minor in Psychology from Kinnaird College, Lahore. She did M.Sc in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from Beaconhouse National University, Lahore. She has done MS in Clinical and Counseling Psychology, Lahore.
She did her internship from CMH, Lahore. The training included assessment and management of psychological disorders along with attending seminars and presentations of various cases. She completed her placements in Jinnah hospital, Lahore and Amin Maktab, Lahore. She has attended International Psychiatric Symposiums held by the Pakistan Psychiatric Welfare Association and Department of Psychiatry King Edward Medical University/ Mayo Hospital Lahore. She has attended conferences on Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Psychoses and Role of caregivers in patients with Alzheimer’s. During this journey, she developed a special interest in treating and managing psychological disorders with Cognitive Behavior Therapy.
She has written the following dissertations and achieved distinctions; ‘Harold Pinter as a Therapeutic Narrator in The Caretaker’, ‘Gender Role Perceptions and Marital Roles as predictors of Marital Adjustment in Dual Income Couples’ and ‘Islamic practice of Istikhara and Dreaming; a psychological perspective’.
Her hobbies include reading literature, watching and reading articles on Music therapy. She loves art as a diagnostic activity and possesses an artistic flair.
