Jafar Ali is working as clinical psychologist at Willing Ways, Lahore. In 2015, he completed his MS in Clinical Psychology from Government College University, Lahore. He did MSc in Applied psychology from Institute of Applied Psychology University of the Punjab.
Jafar has served as a trainee clinical psychologist at the adult psychiatry ward of Services Hospital Lahore and Mayo Hospital Lahore, during which time he conducted detailed assessment and management sessions with clients afflicted with a range of psychological disorders. Jafar is expert in CBT, REBT and Behavior therapy. He employs an eclectic approach towards therapy.
He received training as school counselor at Central Modal School. He has also received training from the university counseling center at Government College University, Lahore. He conducted management sessions with university students who were faced with a multitude of behavioral and psychological issues. He has training and practice in guidance and counseling. He has also participated in national and international conferences of social, clinical and counseling psychology. He has attained workshops on Transactional Analysis, Play and Art therapy, therapeutic approaches and cultural sensitivity and Drug Addiction.
He is a Certified Hypnotherapist and Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programmer (NLP) from DrOskan, GoldSmith University, UK.
He is keen to explore etiology ofpsychological disorders through research. His research work includesSelf-Perception of mental Stigma and discrimination in psychiatric patients.He is also interested in religiosity and spirituality in psychiatric patients. He did his research of religious fanaticism and its impact on mental health. He is also interested in assessment and developed his own indigenous screening and research scale.
